The conundrum of consumption (22:05)

This weekend brings World Consumer Rights Day, and this year's focus is sustainable consumption — a theme chosen by the member organizations of London-based Consumers International. "I think the understanding of the urgency has changed, which is thanks to the great work that has gone before," says Helena Leurent, director general of Consumers International. "There's a recognition that we have gone beyond the time for action."

Seeding circular economy principles in food and agriculture  (30:20)

James Jones, professor emeritus with the University of Florida in Gainesville, is encouraging cross-disciplinary conversations and studies that will (he hopes) help create more circular production processes across agriculture and biological engineering.
