What should we electrify next?

The best of live interviews from GreenBiz events. This episode: Energy commissioners and utilities executives discuss how to electrify (almost) everything.

Electrification — one of the most common answers to fighting the fossil fuel use that directly and indirectly contributes to climate change — won't be easy.

But with every challenge comes an opportunity. Sectors are electrifying at different rates, with transportation and infrastructure at the forefront, and aviation and shipping lagging behind. Energy experts sat down at VERGE Hawaii to explain what electrification will look like in the next few years. Jay Griffin, commissioner with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission; David Hochschild, commissioner on the California Energy Commission; Shelee Kimura, senior vice president of strategic planning at Hawaiian Electric; and GreenBiz’s editorial director, Heather Clancy, all offered their insights.
