OAKLAND, Calif. -- Details of more than 350 grant programs offering more than £1.2 billion ($2.35 million) worth of environmental funding have been brought together at the Green Grants Machine.

The website, created by information services company j4b, provides a free database of green grants offered in the United Kingdom along with case studies of businesses that have benefited from grants, a rundown of environmental legislation and policy, news and tips for going green.

J4b created the database because it saw the number of searches for environmental grants at its other grant sites steadily increase.

The site brings together all green grants, for businesses large and small. Most recently, the Technology Strategy Board announced funding to develop zero carbon buildings. The government-established group will allocate £30 million over the next three years to the Low Impact Buildings Innovation Platform, which will support low carbon projects covering designing for climate change, design tools, new components and materials, managing building operations and low carbon energy.
