Taking Care of Business
By Joel Makower
This week, we are debuting GreenBiz.com 3.0 -- the next-gen evolution of our flagship site. Now in its 10th year, GreenBiz.com (and Greener World Media, the company behind it) has grown and transformed, with continually new and richer offerings. And there is more to come.
After more than a year of work by my talented and dedicated colleagues, we've just taken the new site live and I wanted you, our loyal readers, to be the first to test-drive it. We know it's not yet perfect -- despite our best efforts, a few bugs remain -- and we'd love your feedback, including what you like -- and don't.
The new look of GreenBiz.com (as well as its sister sites -- ClimateBiz.com, GreenerBuildings.com, GreenerComputing.com, and GreenerDesign.com) isn't just cosmetic. We've reorganized news and resources into topics that you've told us are important in your daily work. We've made the thousands of tools, reports, videos, and other resources on our sites easier to find. We've vastly improved the search functionality to make your research time more productive. And we've made more than 100 other geeky technical improvements about which I won't bore you.
The sum of all this is everything you've come to expect from us -- authoritative news and analysis from some of the brightest voices on the scene, as well as deeper-dive tools, reviews, reports, and best practices -- in a more-efficient, better-looking package.
My heartfelt thanks to Hugh Byrne and Carlie Peterson, the two members of our development team who spearheaded this effort, as well as managing editor Matthew Wheeland, for their collective dedication and persistence in bringing the new sites to life.
As I said, there's more to come. In the coming months, we'll be launching new reports, announcing new events, and debuting new products.
As you well know, the field of green business is undergoing dynamic and exciting growth, even during these tough economic times. The newes version GreenBiz.com reflects that dynamism and our own exciting growth, as we celebrate our first decade of life and get ready for the next.
