Biodegradable plastics
As an Engineer and Scientist, I remain amazed at the
short-sightedness of the developers who insist on using edible materials like corn and soy as a base
in producing biodegradable materials and bio fuels, when, often the discarded by-products or other materials can be used.
When we use edible materials to solve the problem, we just compound the situation. The prices may be good for farmers, but the general public gets exploited at every step.
I have fought for greening or planet for decades and it is frustrating to see this is where we wind up.
