With help from leading industry, labor and environmental groups and businesses, the Apollo Alliance has put together a set of policy recommendations for the U.S. government that call for retooling the country's shrinking manufacturing sector to accelerate development, commercialization and job creation in cleantech industries.

The 10-page report, "Make It In America: The Apollo Green Manufacturing Action Plan (GreenMAP)," is the product of a meeting the Apollo Alliance arranged last fall.

The gathering included representatives of the AFL-CIO, Change to Win, the American Wind Energy Association, the Solar Energy Industries Association, Environmental Defense Fund, the Alliance for American Manufacturing, the National Council for Advanced Manufacturing, the International Economic Development Council, Johnson Controls, Inc., General Motors, the Renewable Energy Policy Project, the Center on Wisconsin Strategy, and the Campaign for America's Future.
