George Bandy on the genius and courage of dreaming

May 22, 2017

"Why are you in this line of work?" George Bandy Jr., vice president of sustainability at the Mohawk Group, asked the audience of sustainability professionals gathered at GreenBiz 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Hopefully, it is the courageous drive to do better. Brandy believes that bravery in business is gaining steam from small ventures to big names. He weaves together trends in the maker movement; the evolution of sustainable businesses that provide solutions for water, energy savings and alternative energy; and nature's natural genius. For example, sustainability differentiates brands such as Whole Foods, which has influenced smaller grocery stores to stock organic products, and Bureo, a company that creates skateboards out of recycled fishing nets.

"Courage, genius, profitability, business and success" are all connected.
